Frequently asked questions

Answers to the most common questions about a stay with us in Poljica. Not listed? Just write to us or call. Your inquiry goes directly to us as the host family.

The apartments

Are towels and bed linen included?

Yes. Bed linen and towels are provided. You don’t need to bring any.

Is there Wi-Fi?

Yes, free and unlimited in all apartments. During peak season, internet speeds can at times be considerably slower because many visitors in Poljica are using the local network infrastructure at the same time. We therefore cannot guarantee consistently high bandwidth.

Do the apartments have air conditioning?

Yes, every apartment has air conditioning. Good to know: each apartment has one AC unit, not a split system with one unit per room. On very hot summer days (above 30 °C / 86 °F) not every room will cool equally – the main rooms stay comfortable in any case. Tip: windows open at night, blinds closed during the day, and the AC performs at its best.

Is there central heating?

No. Mobile electric heaters and, in some rooms, the air conditioning provide heat. On cold days the house can therefore feel cooler too. For stays outside the warm summer months, we are happy to discuss the conditions in advance.

Is there a washing machine or dryer?

No, the apartments don’t have a washing machine or dryer. For longer stays we’d suggest a laundry service in Marina or Trogir – we’re happy to give addresses.

Can I smoke in the apartment?

Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the house or apartments. Smoking is allowed on balconies and terraces.

Beach and sea

What are the beaches like?

Typical for Dalmatia: not fine sand, but small stones and pebbles. The water is crystal clear in return. If you prefer a softer surface, bring water shoes – also handy because sea urchins can sometimes sit on the shore rocks. An inflatable mat makes lying in the sun more comfortable.

How far is it to the sea?

The sea is about 50 meters from the house. The bay is sheltered by the offshore islands; the water is calm and clear.

Are there docks for my own boat?

Yes, there are two docks at the separate seaside property, a short walk from the house with a neighbour’s plot in between. A private mooring is available only by prior agreement and subject to availability. See our price overview for the current surcharge.

Can I rent your boat?

In recent years our boat has been out of service for extended periods due to damage. Please ask ahead of your stay – we’ll let you know whether anything is possible for your dates.

Groups and families

Can we book several apartments or the whole house?

Yes. Combine apartments to suit your group. If you book all five, the entire house is exclusively yours for up to 22 guests. Read more about group holidays in Dalmatia.

Is there one common room for everyone?

There is currently no central indoor room for 22 guests. Each apartment has its own living area. A shared separate outdoor area by the sea with seating and a barbecue is a short walk away; a neighbour’s plot lies between it and the house.

Children and pets

Are children welcome?

Very. Families are explicitly welcome. We provide a cot for small children – please mention it in your booking request so we can have it ready.

Can I bring my dog?

Dogs are possible only by prior agreement and for an additional charge. Before booking, we confirm whether the apartment and stay are suitable. See our price overview for the current surcharge.

What about other pets (cats, small animals)?

For any other pets, please ask us first – we’ll decide together whether it fits.

Arrival and stay

When can I check in / check out?

Our standard: check-in from 3 pm, check-out by 10 am. Different times are usually possible – just ask in advance and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

Is there a minimum stay?

Yes. The minimum stay is five nights for both the entire house and individual apartments. We are happy to make an individual offer for multi-week bookings.

Is there parking?

There are three free parking spaces on the separate seaside property. They are not immediately next to the house. Further cars can park along the road. For navigation, please use the exact address Obala sv. Luke 85, 21222 Poljica – it leads directly to our parking spaces by the water. The house address is not the correct navigation destination for parking.

Do you need to register me somewhere?

Yes. In Croatia, hosts are legally required to register guests in the national eVisitor system. On arrival we briefly take your ID card or passport, enter the data, and hand the document back to you. This is routine and takes only a few minutes.

The area

Where is the nearest supermarket?

There’s a small shop in Poljica for daily essentials. For larger shopping, drive to Marina (3 km) – it has a supermarket, bakery and pharmacy. Trogir (10 min by car) has everything.

Where is the nearest doctor / pharmacy?

The nearest pharmacy and a general practitioner are in Marina (3 km). The nearest hospital is in Split. If needed, we’re happy to help with communication.

German, Croatian, some English and some Italian. Whether it’s arrival, excursions, problems or a trip to the doctor, we’re happy to help with language too.
